I am thrilled to be a part of the Seguin family this year. I look forward to working with our amazing staff, visiting with returning students and their families, and getting to know our new kangaroos.
My educational background is a true indication of my belief in life-long learning. I am a Weatherford Kangaroo! Growing up just a few miles from Seguin Elementary, I graduated from Weatherford High School in 2000. After graduation, I completed my undergraduate degree at Texas Tech University, and then transferred to Texas Woman's University to achieve a Master's degree in Education. Once graduated, I decided to return to my hometown and family. I was delighted to find a teaching position open at Curtis Elementary where spent ten years nurturing and educating students through innovative and future ready teaching styles.
I began my teaching career as a fourth grade teacher. Although, I loved the fourth grade curriculum, I found my home with 6th grade where I spent most of my career. During my time with Curtis Elementary, I was given opportunities to transition into a campus leader through staff development and leadership where I took on many more administrative duties. These opportunities lead me to realize my calling as an campus administrator. In my desire to make an impact on the larger school community, I enrolled in and completed the Administrator Certification program through Lamar University in 2013.
When I am not learning with students, peers, and parents, I can be found with my husband, Matt, and our two children, Tripp and Madelyn. We love to be outside camping, gardening, and exploring new places.
I am proud to be the Assistant Principal at Seguin Elementary School and I look forward to the relationships I continue to build with staff, students, and parents as a Weatherford Kangaroo!
